Vivek Ramaswamy’s Net Worth Exceeds $950 Million – How the DOGE Co-Lead Amassed Nine Figures

Forbes values Vivek Ramaswamy at more than $950 million. The largest single source of that fortune is his 10 percent holding in Roivant Sciences, the pharmaceutical company he launched in 2014. A second major holding is his stake in Strive Asset Management, the investment firm he co founded in 2022; that position is worth over $100 million. Ramaswamy will serve as co lead of the Department of Government Efficiency announced by President-elect Trump.

Roivant Sciences operates through subsidiaries that develop drugs for psoriasis, cancer along with other disorders. In 2020, Sumitomo Dainippon paid $3 billion for ownership interests in five Roivant subsidiaries and purchased a 10 percent stake in Roivant itself. Ramaswamy declared $176 million in total income that year, of which $174 million represented capital gains.

Roivant listed on the Nasdaq in 2021 at a $7.3 billion valuation. The company now trades at an $8.2 billion market capitalization. Ramaswamy retains roughly 10 percent of the equity. He resigned as chief executive in 2021, remained chairman until 2023 – left to pursue the Republican presidential nomination. In January 2024 he sold $33 million in Roivant shares to finance his campaign.

A Roivant subsidiary, went public in 2015 at a $2.2 billion valuation – the largest biotech IPO in United States history. Ramaswamy reported $37 million in capital gains that year and total income of almost $39 million.

Before Roivant, Ramaswamy worked at QVT Financial from 2007 to 2014, managed the hedge fund’s biotech portfolio, and collected $7 million in total compensation.

Strive Asset Management launched in 2022 with the stated purpose of opposing what it labels value destructive agendas. Backers include Peter Thiel, Bill Ackman in addition to Vice President-elect JD Vance. Ramaswamy’s stake in the firm exceeds $100 million.

His personal portfolio allocates 60 percent to equities and 40 percent to bonds. Holdings include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Rumble Inc., MoonPay next to Shipyard Software.
